Hi,

We have been exploring a number of self reporting outcome measures and have a keen interest in the BASIS, the BASIS-24 in particular. I would just like to clarify that as the BASIS is an American designed measure that when using it in Australia is it standard practice to use the tool in its original format with no modification or consideration given to racial/cultural backgrounds common to Australia (Q.35 & Q36 in the BASIS-32)? If so do people of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander background choose “Multicultural/Other”? If there are inclusions/substitutions what are they and do they impact on the scoring of the BASIS?

Regards,

Chris

Hi Chris, the BASIS-32 only has 32 questions so I am not sure what you mean by Q35 and Q36. Tim
