Please could you confirm for me if the HoNOS secure is used in community teams that are not forensic teams.
In the ACT, forensic service users are co-managed by community teams and the forensic team. Would the forensic HoNOS-secure be used by any in-patient or community treating team, or should it only be used by the Forensic team if the service user is part of their service either in a correctional facility or community?
Should the measure be used by both?

Hi, I would be interested in any feedback you get in relation to this topic, as I am thinking about using HoNOS secure in a research project with high & complex needs patients.

Hi currently the HoNOS secure is not part of the the routine NOCC collection. I do know that forensic services around the country have looked at the measure. The main differences between the HoNOS and the HoNOS-secure are some changes to the glossary and the addition of ratings of risk and safety. Regards Tim

Hi, a bit late to the discussion, but in case anyone still finds it relevant.

What we do in the UK is the use of HoNOS-Secure in forensic inpatient units but use HoNOS on return to the community teams (that way, co-case managed etc everyone can still do the measure).

That's my 2 cents worth! :D
