The documet "Key Performance Indicators for Australian Public Mental Health Services" avaliable below, defines a set of ‘phase one’ indicators that are based on the National Health Performance Framework adopted by all Australian Health Ministers in 2001, and linked to the strategic directions of the National Mental Health Plan 2003-2008. The indicators proposed cover the domains of service efficiency, effectiveness, appropriateness, access, continuity and capability, all central concepts to understanding how a mental health service functions.
